Sand sculpture event to be held at Marina Park
A sand sculpture contest will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marina Park, Ventura. The event is sponsored by the Ventura Recreation Division and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Categories are youth, adult, professional and fam-ily. They will be judged on the most unusual, realistic and castle creations. The jazz band Emo will play at 11 a.m. and the rock band Cirith Ungol will play at 2 p.m. To enter the contest call Debbie Solomon or Monica Nolan at the divi-sion office 644-7421.
