Frank Brunner is a comics artist and illustrator best known for his striking Elric Saga artwork, particularly featured in Heavy Metal – “The adult illustrated fantasy magazine.” He also created cover art for bands like Faithful Breath and Necronomicon, though those works were not Elric-related, as well as for bands like Angel Dust and Mandator.

Unfortunately, despite the fantasy aesthetic, there is little to no direct connection between Brunner’s work and Cirith Ungol.

Questions:

What is the original date on Frank Brunner – “Stealer of Souls“? Is it first draw Plate 5 from 1979, or earlier?
The “Stealer of Souls” from 1979 is b&w. But when was it added colours on it? Was it this band Necronomicon (1988), or earlier?
Ps, Necronomicon also have H.P. Lovecraft to it.
